From footloose

Haven't had much time to look for cute things online these days.
I'm way behind on my sketches for Footloose..... Starting though.... I have a bit of time. It is hard to stay focused on them when I am working full-time and everyone else still seems to be on vacation.

I think my New Years Resolution (aside from all the usual ones) should be to take more time for myself, my sweetie and my puppies. I always feel like I am doing 14 things at once and I need a BREAK. I'm pooped. This will be a hard one for me to do. I already have a long list of things I need to accomplish in 2010 and I'm starting it out doing three things at once....

Oh well. I'm starting to think I am just wired this way.

Happy New Years Everyone. I think I am going to start this New Year by sleeping. Bed time will be 10:00pm tonight!

I have to show these adorable dog collars to everyone. I ordered some for Minou and Birdie. Unfortunately the hardware is to big for their scrawny necks (it would be like me wearing a stack of post its around my neck, not impossible but uncomfortable) but I had some smaller buckles I replaced them with last night.
But they are really well made and really cute! So I want to reccommend Cody's Creations to other puppy people. It is hard to find reasonably priced collars that are cute and different.

Never made baked brie before but I love it. I'm going to a christmas party tomorrow and I thought I would try it. They make it sound so easy with the premade dough. I don't think it is unreasonable to cheat a little bit.
I'll give it a go tomorrow wish me luck!

**Did a test one tonight - DELICIOUS and worked like a charm** With two people there is still alot left but I am sure we will manage to finish it off in no time tomorrow. Baked Brie for breakfast anyone?

Today was supposed to be my last day on this show... Alas it wasn't to be. However it was still the last day for many other people so it was time to bring on the presents. There is 30+ people in the wardrobe on this show and giving them all something cheap that they won't throw out as soon as they are home is difficult. I saw the cowboy cookies on Bakerella's site and thought I could do something similar! And it was a huge hit!
I tried Bakerella's cowboy cookies recipe but it didn't work out for me. I think it might just be me. But I adapted another chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe I found online. I bought christmas colored M&m's, 2 dozen jars, and went for it.... One evening was spent making the label (the instructions are on the back - it is just a legal sized paper cut ad taped on - nothing fancy) and two evenings spent filling the jars. It could go faster but I found a canning funnel essential so that meant doing them one at a time....
Everyone loved them. I knew I didn't have enough for everybody but there is always someone with an allergy and someone on a diet so when I left today there was still 2 left. Perfect. Whew....
I'm so glad.... I highly recommend it! It still probably cost $100 for all the ingredients and the jars but for $24 people that is a $4 gift that I couldn't duplicate anywhere else.
YIPPEE.
Now I guess I better start my homework that is due tomorrow!

I'm trying to get going on a wearable art entry.... It's been a slow start. With sewing all day at work the last thing I want to do is sew some more when I get home... But it is starting to turn into something so I'm getting more and more interested in it.
As usual I'm making it up as I go along..... One of these days it isn't going to be such a good idea. So far so good though.

I'm not much of a cook so this isn't surprising.

To prove her wrong I am attempting Bakerella's red velvet cake pops today.
(I snuck the photo from Bakerella! don't they look amazing!!!)
I've made red velvet cupcakes before but I never seem to find the same recipe so we are trying this one. So far it seems ok. I'm waiting for michaels to open so I can pick up the candy sticks (They are probably open now - I'm good at procrastinating)
I'll try and update with some photos later - if I don't eat them all!

Love this dress that Drew Barrymore wore to the TIFFs. Infuriated Squirrel just informed me it is Alexander McQueen. No wonder I love it.....

I am headed to New Zealand on Sunday to take part in the World of Wearable Art show/performance. I can't give away any details yet, that has to wait until at least the awards show on Friday the 25th. But if there is any good news I will have a hard time keeping it a secret for very long.
